I heard about this on the news, went home via Dean Street, Soho. Elbowed my way in the crowd, got a shot with my compact camera. Nothing much to see, really, except loads of fire tenders, a bit of smoke and water. I don’t think anyone was injured, but it seemed like a very serious incident, which apparently started in an air-conditioning unit. I don’t envy those firefighters at the top of that ladder. A dangerous and precarious place to be. I imagine there was huge risk of the fire spreading to the adjacent closely packed buildings, most of which are businesses connected to the film industry. The whole street was evacuated. On a positive note, all the bars and cafes in adjacent streets in Soho were doing a roaring trade.
