I attended an activity day organised by Kent Association for the Blind at Cascades. Took loads of shots of the kids having a really great day. There was a mixture of ages and levels of disability, and some normally sighted children too.
Goalball is a game that all can play, since everyone wears shades. Each team of 3 takes it in turn to roll the ball down the pitch. It has bells inside, so you have to figure out where it is and then block it just using your ears and your body. There are textured lines on the pitch so you can locate position and direction. If the ball rolls the length to the end unimpeded, its a goal.
There were other activities during the day, including indoor cricket, trampolining, street dance and tae kwon do.
