I am not one to get particularly defensive about England, but this article in the Daily Express just about tips me over the edge. So a group of radical muslims think its OK to have a march in London from the House of Commons to Trafalgar Square on 31 October to promote their desire to have Sharia Law in the UK. This is ENGLAND and we are quite happy with ENGLISH law, thank you very much. If you don’t like it, move somewhere that suits you better. These radicals come to the UK, take advantage of our education, health care, housing, benefits and then have the effrontary to tell us they are better than us. If that march goes ahead I shall be there with my camera. Let’s hope that sense is seen and that whoever is behind this move to advocate and somehow validate the idea of Sharia Law in England is swiftly marched to the airport and told don’t come back. We are told to value diversity, but come on chaps, it works both ways, YOU have to value the culture of the country you CHOSE to live in.
I tried to visit their website, only to find it down. Has it exceeded its bandwidth or been taken down, I wonder. Having today (Sunday) looked at their website, I can only conclude that they are either completely bonkers or insane, or both. They illustrate their plans to replace good old Nelson on his column in Trafalgar Square with some hokey Islamic clock and replace the Lions in the Square with ‘pots of gold’. I’m sure that NOT challenging this sort of nonsense will be a bad move.
Update 20/10/09: It seems that this march will go ahead. The Metropolitan police operations office say that no demonstrations are being allowed in Trafalgar square due to an Olympic promotions event on this day and that the protest will be re routed to Piccadilly Circus.
What do you think?
