Time for some spring cleaning – a new look for the blog, with a more sports-orientated look to it. Hope you like it.
Football with the Darts has been a little thin on the ground, away games and a few home games under floodlights, so as a change I have spent my Saturday afternoons with local rugby. On 12 February I went to Vigo Rugby Club. There were two matches, one friendly against Ashford and one league match against Whitstable. Enjoyable afternoon. Grey light magically turned into a wonderfully sunny afternoon with blue sky and clouds, but it was incredibly muddy for all concerned. Getting low for the shots was almost an impossibility – falling over in the mud was not an option! Vigo play in black/red. Taking a leaf from “European Fields” by Hans van der Meer I took a wider shot of the match, but from ground level, not up a cherry picker as in his book.

and finally, the lift
I shall be at another home game for Dartford FC on Tuesday evening. Roll on the lighter days.
