On the same night as the 500, Dartford played Eastleigh at home. It was a good game of football. Eastleigh were tough opposition, but Dartford held them to a 0:0 draw. However, that meant no goal celebrations. The weather was grey and misty, which made it difficult to get a focus lock on some of the action. I started the match at the ‘wrong’ end deliberately to try and capture some of the defending players in action. For the first time this season, I think, the opposing team were thoughtful enough to put their player number on the front of their kit, which makes identifying them SOOO much easier.
and a shot of Matt Jones defending against Richard Graham which illustrates how misty it was.
There were some narrow squeaks. Eastleigh made a good attempt and would have scored had the ball not ricocheted off the top bar. The Eastleigh supporters, fondly known as the ‘spitfires’ were few in number but made their presence felt vocally in the first half. I think they got sore throats as they were not quite so audible in the second half.
Finally, just a shot of the action. Captain Elliot Bradbrook, voted Man of the Match, narrowly avoiding a boot to the head in a goal attack challenge.
